Just a few tips for folks reading the comments. Let your critique group be composed of readers who actually do read in your genre or category or their advice might be 'off'. Be flexible within reason or people will leave with good reason. If someone is leaving and that loss will make the group dysfunctional (eg if you go from three to two members), find another writer to fill their shoes, so the group can keep going. I joined a critique group in 2020 over Covid for the first time. I'm the only person of four in that iteration of the group who is still there - and all because I made certain to reach out to other writers about joining us when I knew someone had to leave.
